Life is good
I'm taking advantage of the brief moments while Cliff is taking care of bathtime to actually spend a few minutes on the computer. Everything is great right now so there's not a lot to write about. last week was crazy busy with working at MAC, taking workshops and working a charity event with Katherine. On top of that I spent 16 hours at the hospital with Elena in labor. In the end she had a c section but we have lovely new family member Nila Jane Abcde Miranda. Working on plans for Bellona's 3rd!!! birthday party coming up in a few weeks and I'm enjoying 3 days in a row off from work.

Murphy's Birthday
I can't believe it, today Murphy is one year old. There were times this last year that I thought this day would take forever to come but it's here already. Having a two year old and a baby has been a challenge but we've had lots of fun. Murphy is huge!!! 27 1/2 lbs and 32 1/2" tall!!! He's almost as big as Bellona. He's been walking and climbing and getting into everything since January. Most of the time he's in a wonderful mood except for sleeping. I hope the teething gets over quickly so we can start sleeping through the night

Revelations
Things I've realized lately:
Glitter does not come out of the hair for months!!! Bellona had glitter in her hair for a birthday party in early December and it's still there despite numerous hair washings
I really miss going to work. It's only been a few weeks and I've only got 2 more to go but I miss the social aspect of my job and having a reason to put on makeup.
This year might actually be the year I work out on a regular basis because the gym has childcare. I'm going to check it out next week, maybe working out will become the break I need from the kids. Or I could just leave them in the childcare room while I sit in the sauna.
Cleaning my house will always feel like a neverending losing battle until the kids get old enough to help or at least spend most of the day at school. Three hours of work can be demolished by them in less than 30 seconds.
I have to start seriously looking into preschool options for Bellona. How did this come about so quickly? Murphy loves his big sister so much, it'll be harder for him to have her gone for a few hours than it will for me.
I will be tired for several more years and there's really not much I can do about it except take naps when I can.

Finding the Time
I've realized that the only way I'm ever going to have time for this is while my children are sleeping. I've managed to buy myself a few extra minutes by nursing Murphy back to sleep even though it's really time to be getting just to have a little time to myself. I didn't realize a year ago how much extra work adding that second child would be, although it is that much more fun. Cliff and I had such a good time playing with the kids after dinner last night instead of turning on the TV. We watch too much TV and a lot of movies, I need to stop that asap. Now that football season is almost over it might be easier. Bellona is so much fun to eavesdrop on when she's playing on her own. Last night she was playing with her stuffed animals, putting them to bed and singing and talking to them. Cliff and I listened in on the monitor while she played happily for almost half an hour! Murphy is climbing everything that stands still and is getting so confident with his walking. It's just a matter of time before he's running.
I just heard the wakeup call, gotta run!

The end of procrastination?
For the last several years, I've been telling myself "You need to start writing some of this down, you'll enjoy the day to day craziness someday." Finally after 2 1/2 years, I'm getting around to it. I actually set my account up a few weeks ago but this is the first chance I've gotten to post anything. This morning Murphy had me up at 6 with the raunchiest smelling poop ever. ( I swear boys are born stinky). I did the dishes while making coffee and resigned myself to being up. I had a brief glimpse of Mommy time when I carried a sleeping Murphy back to bed only to turn around to hear "Good Morning, Mama! Go downstairs?" So much for alone time. Bellona and I are now eating breakfast while I finally get to sit at the computer.
Now that I've managed to start one of many long overdue projects, I feel like I might be able to do it all. Maybe it's only because I'm not quite awake yet, or because I'm off work this month but I think I might actually get something accomplished. Like my xmas cards for the last 3 years or finally getting my house completely organized after moving 4 months ago.
